Flora
This is my Flora page.  I don't really like that word, "Flora".  But, so far, I don't have a
better one, so until something better shows up, that will be it.

I like forests, snow, closeups of plant materials, and other forms in nature.  This page will, hopefully,
grow over time.

I have made a rule that only images I would hang in my own home will appear on these pages.

Please enjoy these samples.
Oaks in Snow
White White
This image is a "white-on-white" study I did
for a class, some (many) years ago.  It is
difficult to get detail, lighting, and image
quality right with this subject.

This is a Pear Blossom from a backyard tree
we've had for many years, also.

I like the green stems and the delicateness
of the flower pedals, in this image.

Of all the trails I did with the "white-on-white"
assignment, this is the only one that was
good!
The Daffodil (the only one I've ever
grown successfully) one of the
wonders of spring, had a natural
backdrop of darkness, and a Tulip
(top right out of focus)  The light and
structure caught my eye.

Some of my images work as well in
color and black and white.  So, with
this one you get your choice.
Daffodil B&W
Daffodil
Shot one early morning, in Big Bear Lake, right
after a night of snowfall.  These two old oaks
framed the rising sun just right.

The freshness of the snow, the stark shadows
from the Oaks, combine into a compelling
image
Here is my "Daffodil"
image, on foamcore
mount, cheering up a
section of our library wall.
Talk about BRIGHT!...look at those suckers!

All this color is real.  It's the lighting and black, reflective surfaces
surrounding the fruit.

Even though I'm not really that crazy about tomatoes, I almost want to pick
one of these off the vine and bite into it.

I think this would look great on your Kitchen wall, near where you prepare
veggies.  It will inspire you to eat your Tomatoes!
Tomatoes
Snow Trees
New snow....in a Jeffery Pine forest.....what could be more peaceful?

I could spend hours at a time in this setting.

This was near sunrise in early December.  George Winston's
December
album was in my head.

Get a really big print of this, buy George's album, pour a glass of fine wine
and cure all your troubles!

Disclaimer:  I'm not a doctor, I have no idea if that will work.
