Art
Art Images is a mix of fun explorations in Photoshop, experiments with lighting, and found things that
are special to me.
Quite a Pear
This still life is a favorite of mine. The lighting, double reflections and
sensual engagement make it special.
An 8 x 8 print graces the wall of our bathroom.
Identity Crisis
"Have fun!" That's what I was told when I first
learned of the OOF concept ("Out-of-Frame).
Here I have combined my love of birds with
this fun play-around.
I think some playful spaces (kid's rooms,
family rooms, etc) could beneficially display
this image.
The little sea bird is stepping on to (and into)
his own Photograph
Palm
The ubiquitous Palm.. for reasons unknown to Mother Nature, it's everywhere
in SoCal, So, one rainy day, I played with a little Photoshop magic and
created this version.
The cool thing about this is , I'll make it for you with almost any background
color you want. Match your wall, match your pillows, match your eyes,
whatever! (the orange you see here is a very nice compliment to the room I
wanted to put this in)
chip, or give me a Pantone number, or some other way that may be good for
you. I'll send you a sample, before making the actual image, to make sure
it's spot-on. Then I'll make the print.
Snow
wet snow fall, crystallized overnight,
The first light played off the surface,
magnifying the shadows and texture.
If you want a "cooling effect" in a room,
this will do it, just looking at this
images makes me cold.
On the right, another substitute for air
conditioning, an oak branch, exposed
to wet snowfall overnight, shows a
ridge of ice in the morning
Ice
Flyover
Another OOF image.
As with the orange Palm, this image is available with custom
background colors.
I just really enjoy the effect of this print. The birds seem "3d"
as the fly over the real shadows and the OOF shadows.
OK, that's enough of this stuff.
"The aim of art is to represent not
the outward appearance of things, but
their inward significance."
-Aristotle
These three black and whites look really good display together. They are
from the tidepools near RAT Beach.
They are available individually, if you prefer to not take my advice.
The moving water, reflections, somewhat hard to determine formations of
seaweed and rock and sand, give me plenty to reflect upon (pun intended)
and puzzle over.
